August 19 – Macon on the Saone

We left late from Vandenesse-en-Auxois and had a short drive to a small town north of Macon right on the Saone River and the bike trail.  We got a tiny house – more like a box –  but with all necessities plus a resident snail. From there rode toward Macon along the Soane and found a lovely marina with nice restaurant.  Later we explored the charmingly empty old town with roman-era churches and buildings.
